# Progress and results

## Read progress

Flow progress presents steps, waits and results. It answers three questions: where are we, what needs intervention, and what was produced? A loading animation alone cannot explain durable work.

| Information | Expected value | Purpose |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Work status | Effective execution situation | Understand progress |
| Current step | Active work or wait | Locate activity |
| Conditions | Passed and missing criteria | Understand blockers |
| Result | Surface or deliverable link | Inspect produced content |
| Decisions | Recorded interventions | Understand approvals |

## Example

North Studio’s work shows drafting complete and review awaiting the manager. The quote is accessible as an intermediate result. After approval and finalization, the retained result links to the client and the work that produced it.

## Choose a proposal

When work presents several alternatives, explicitly choose a proposal from its list or table. **Retain** records your decision without changing the reference; **Apply** opens the declared form to review changes before confirmation. Sources and controls remain those of the program that produced the work, even if the application has evolved. Replacing the current choice preserves other proposals and earlier decisions. A lost confirmation response can be retried without creating a second decision.

## Resume in context

From home, **Resume** opens the work and its context. Users find results, sources and next actions. Targeted corrections identify affected steps rather than automatically restarting the entire process.

[Error handling](https://developers.dagio.ai/retries/) covers technical failures; [lifecycles](https://developers.dagio.ai/lifecycles/) describe the quote’s business state.

## Answer a Worker question

In **Action required**, choose an application shown in your Portfolio, load its authorized
Execution Spaces, then choose the one whose questions you want to read. The Task may belong to
another Space; its access rules are also checked. Open the question and provide the requested text or option.
Review your answer before confirming: it resumes the same execution without completing the task
or approving its result. A partial list does not mean there are no other questions. If the
acknowledgement is not received, resume the same retained answer instead of creating another one;
do not repeat work that has already been confirmed.

## Applied examples : Retain and inspect the result

The result retains a canonical reference and the exported document respects its read budget.

### UI layout example

The illustrative layout below places this configuration in the Clients/Quotes app. Insert each fragment at the stated location, with Field, Query and Action references matching the Model declarations.

1. Quote S-1042
2. Subject and need
3. Proposal
4. Retained references
